Foundation Training
Trains persons who are novice in the correct methods of working with lift trucks, the care and daily maintenance of the vehicle and instructs the trainee in safe working practices. Includes practical and theory assessment.

Experienced Worker Familiarisation Training
Training for persons who have experience on lift trucks, yet have received no formal training. Removes any bad habits which candidates may have picked up in the workplace and replaces them with RTITB standard safe working practices.

Refresher/Recertification Training
Gives refresher training to existing lift truck operators and those who have previously held a licence and can show proof of this with particular reference to safe working practices and maintenance of a high standard of fork truck usage.

Conversion Training
Training for competent and certificated operators to operate an alternative type of lift truck.
For example, a counterbalance operator converting to a reach truck.

Evidence requirements
To achieve the learning outcomes the candidate must complete a theory test and a practical test.
Examination and Certification
Successful candidates will be awarded an FTS certificate and can, if required, be registered with the RTITB.
